From 7-31 August, 2010, Edinburgh Central Mosque opens its doors to host a festival to "Discover Islam".

The Discover Islam Exhibition is officially part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.(Venue 48)

Throughout the history of Islam, its art has taken a great variety of forms in the different parts of the Muslim world, which stretches from North Africa to Southeast Asia. From the works of a master calligrapher, a renowned artist or potter, a skilled embroiderer or miniature-maker, the legacy of fine craftsmanship, involving the mastery of an art or craft along traditional lines complete with meticulous attention to fine detail, is on display for everyone to see.

Rehana Saddiq shares her experience as a Muslim woman and analyses the various challenges faced in contemporary Muslim and secular societies. Muslim Women: Images and Realities on 22 Aug @ 4pm

Several organizations donate free, credible information about the faith of Islam and its heritage. English translations of the Qur'an, brochures and books are free for the asking.
